Why our hostel?
Central Backpackers Oxford has been rated the best hostel in Oxford for 15 years and counting.
We provide a relaxed, friendly atmosphere to make your stay more personal and memorable.
Besides, free unlimited WiFi throughout the building, free tea and coffee and free luggage storage is also offered.
Facilities include a TV lounge, dining lounge, fully fitted kitchen, and an outdoor rooftop terrace.
People of all nationalities are welcome. We have something for everyone!
Can I cancel my
reservation?
Why is a credit or debit card required to book?
We require 48 hours notice for any cancellations (by 12 midnight GMT 2 days prior to arrival).
Failing to cancel before this time will result in the reservation being charged in full. No shows will also be charged in full.
We kindly ask you to contact us for any further questions related to cancellations. Cancellations must be requested or informed by email.
When can I check-in?
Long term stay
Our opening hours are from 7 AM to 11 PM.
The check-in time is available from 3 PM until 11 PM.
Before your check-in at 3 PM, feel free to enjoy our free tea and coffee or make use of any common
area, such as the TV Room or our cosy terrace.
Can I store my luggage?
We provide luggage storage every day from 7 AM until 11 PM. You can drop your bags before checking in or after checking out.
Not staying with us? You can still store your bags without a reservation against a small fee.
Late check-in?
Our staff work from 7 AM to 11 PM.
Please, make sure your arrival time is within these hours as no staff member will be on duty to look after you.
Do not hesitate to contact us should you experience any unexpected difficulties with check-in.
What do I need to Check-in?
All guests will be ask to prove their identity by showing either a valid ID, Passport or Drivers licence.
When do I pay for my stay?
All reservations made via our website will be paid for on arrival at the property. Reservations made on third party websites such as booking.com or hostelworld will have varying payments methods, please check the terms on the third party website.
How can I pay?
We accept cash, Visa, MasterCard and American Express.
I am under 18, can I stay?
All guests under age must be accompanied by an adult and placed in a private dorm during their stay.

Taxes / Fees
All bookings need to be secured with a valid credit or debit card to confirm the reservation at Central Backpackers Oxford. Payment can still be made via alternative methods upon arrival at the hostel.
No fees or additional costs will be charged in advance or on arrival.
All prices include all taxes. Fees may be charged if the terms and conditions of stay have been breached by the guest.
Mobility / Access

We offer a weekly long-term rate dependent upon availability at the time of arrival.
Simply book a few nights with us online and we can talk about it when you arrive!
Please note our building is over 100 years old with no elevator/lift.
For mobility-limited guests, there are 44 steps from the ground floor to the accommodation level.
