LONDON HEATHROW - CENTRAL BACKPACKERS & RETURN
London Heathrow airport is the closest airport to Oxford. It is very easy and quick to reach. So, if you’re planning on staying with us in Oxford before you travel back to your home country (or somewhere else, who knows!), you won’t have to waste time going back to London for just one night to catch your flight.
There are several ways to get to Central Backpackers from London Heathrow airport & back:
Take “LGW the airline” or National Express coaches (example 1) → Direct busses from the airport to Oxford and return. Only a 1 ½ hour drive! Your bus stop in Oxford will be Westgate (LGW the airline) or Gloucester Green (National Express).
Take the train via Reading → One change in Reading.
Take the train via London —> One change in London Paddington. Take the Elisabeth line (underground) to Paddington train station, change for the train to Oxford.
Hints:
Busses are generally the cheaper option.
Both the train station and the bus stops Gloucester Green / Westgate are only a 5 minute walk away from Central Backpackers. So once you’re in Oxford, you don’t have to worry about getting a cab, bus, or struggling with your luggage when walking to the hostel!

LONDON GATWICK - CENTRAL BACKPACKERS & RETURN
There are several ways to get to Central Backpackers from London Gatwick airport & back:
Take the OXF or National Express coaches (example 2) → Direct busses or one change at London Heathrow from the airport to Oxford and return. Only a 2 ½ - 3 hour drive! Your bus stop in Oxford will be St Aldates (OXF coach) or Gloucester Green (National Express).
Take the train via Reading (example 3) → One change in Reading.

Take the bus + underground + coach (example 4) → Take the bus 473 to Stratford. Take the tube (Central line) to Marble Arch. Take the Oxford tube (coach!) to Oxford.
Take the bus + underground + train (example 5) → Take the bus 474 to Victoria Dock Road / Custom House. Take the tube (Elisabeth line) to Paddington. Take the train to Oxford.

LUTON AIRPORT - CENTRAL BACKPACKERS & RETURN
There are several ways to get to Central Backpackers from Luton airport & back:
Take the National Express Coach (example 6) → Direct bus from the airport to Oxford and return. Only a 2 hour drive! Your bus stop in Oxford will be Gloucester Green (National Express).
Take the bus + train (example 7) → Take the bus to London Paddington. From Paddington, take the train to Oxford.

LONDON STANSTED - CENTRAL BACKPACKERS & RETURN
London Stansted is the airport that is the furthest away, but there’s still many easy options to travel to Oxford. So don’t worry - we’ve got you!
There are several ways to get to Central Backpackers from London Stansted airport & back:
Take the National Express coach “Stansted Express” (examples 8 and 9) → The direct route will take you to Oxford Gloucester Green (last stop) through Luton and you don’t have to worry about changing transport. The drive is about 4 hours long. This bus runs approximately every two hours.
Take the National Express + Stagecoach / Oxford tube (example 10) → Change at London Victoria. This drive is about 5 ½ hours long due to change of transport at Victoria Coach Station.
Take the train (example 11) → Generally includes 2 changes:
Step 1: Take the Stansted Express to London Liverpool Street
Step 2: From LDN Liverpool Street Station, take the Elisabeth line (underground) to London Paddington
Step 3: Take the train from London Paddington to Oxford.
